Treat Yo’ Self

A public service announcement for a Monday:

Somewhere in this week, with its meetings, bills, laundry, commuting, dish-washing, bed-making, hair-washing, shoe-trying, flossing, et cetera, find sometime to treat yo’ self. Fine leather goods and massages work, but so too does a yoga class, baking something from scratch, or finding the perfect fall novel.

  • Cadi: Treating myself something that I don’t do until I get to the point of snapping (and I’m oh-so-close this week). Why is it that we need permission to do this for ourselves? We work and run around like crazy and feel like we’re never caught up but rarely if ever do we stop and say ‘you know what? Tea break, 30 minutes of uninterruped me-ness.’

    Cadi, I guess sometimes we just love sight of the importance of caring for ourselves, but when we remember I find that it becomes a super solid foundation for everything else in life. Don’t delay on your treat this week, and I hope you hit a patch of smooth sailing soon.

    Katie, There is something about a Monday treat that does seem to set a good tone for the rest of the week, doesn’t it? My treat was eating some dark chocolate and watching an old episode of Roseanne (love that show!).
