Pink of Perfection 2.0!

Surprise! For the past month, I’ve been working with the excessively talented cre8d design to bring you the modern, grown-up version of Pink of Perfection. I went to Rachel and her team with an idea of what I wanted and she nailed it from the get-go, exceeding my wildest expectations. She and her brother Stephen could not have been more of a joy to work with them, and I would highly recommend them for any web project you have. I’m kind of speechless with happiness at their work right now.

I hope you’ll take some time to peak around the new site. Content is organized by tags on the far right sidebar, where there is also a search function. Soon, you’ll be able to connect with me on Facebook, and you can already follow the mundane details of my life via Twitter. Perhaps one of my favorite new features are the category pages with thumbnails of recent posts. It makes it a lot more fun to browse and find things worth baking and making. Videos will also be popping up in the sidebar, too, like the Valentine’s video currently on display.

Thank you again to Rachel and Stephen for bringing Pink of Perfection into a new era, and I hope all of you are as happy with their work as I am. Welcome to my new home!

Funny how as soon as I registered the new look and thought, “Holy!”, the first word I read on your post was “Surprise!”

  • Joy: Wow - at first I didn’t realise where my favourite link was taking me - what a surprise. It looks fantastic! Now that I have taken the incredibly mad/brave/uncharacteristic/scary step of leaving my job (eeeeeeeeek) I am inspired to beautify my blog too. Well done, it looks super!1 year ago

  • Paige: I absolutely love the new design, Sarah—it’s gorgeous. But no one in my family is allowed to see the pizza post, because they’ll make me make them some (and this dieter no can eat pizza. Very, very, very sad.)1 year ago

  • Melissa: As soon as the page loaded, I actually said, “Whoa!” out loud. Congrats on the new design! Can’t wait to explore!1 year ago

  • Sarah: Gourmet Chick, Now I just need to tackle the spring cleaning, and not in a virtual way but of my actual pig sty apartment. :)

Paige, It’s healthy pizza! I swear! I got it out of the “light” issue of Everyday Food and there’s barely any cheese on it.

I am so glad you are all digging the design.1 year ago

  • Sarah: There are still some kinks here and there to be worked out, so be patient with me!1 year ago

  • Julia: great new-look website Sarah! Clean and crisp without looking cold or clinical, all the while retaining the personal, girly-in-a-good-way feel. And the well-written, interesting and friendly-in-tone posts just keep on coming! Lovely design without losing any of the great content; as a relatively new reader (subscriber? blog-spyer? I’m not sure what the correct term is), I’d say that’s a successful re-style! Lovely, lovely, lovely.1 year ago

  • Kat, Thank you so much!

Julia, Hey! I am thrilled you like it. In fact, the way you describe the look it is totally what I was going for — more white space, more modern, but still feminine without being cutesy. I hope you keep coming back!1 year ago

  • Kate: Wow, Sarah, this is really beautiful, I love it!1 year ago

  • Margaret Roach: You know me, I’m such a freak these days I love seeing the “WP” in your page source (where only total nutjobs even look to see if someone whose site they admire, as I do yours, is a WordPress person). Welcome to that family.

You have been my ongoing inspiration, always moving a step out front and showing the way. Now I have some more aspiring to do. Will be here studying and enjoying…1 year ago

  • Miranda M.: Was curiously sad when I hadn’t seen any posts from POP on my reader this past week but figured you were on vacation…just went to look up the recipe for greens and beans soup and realized you’ve changed! I’m eager to catch up. Could someone else be missing out because of this…?
Or I don’t know as much about reader as I thought…
