Alicia Kachmar: You are awesome! Yeeeees cafe au lait bowls. That is such a good one! (Do you like Le Pain Quotidien?) And ditto on rosy cheeks…I love that mine are naturally like that (blood vessels close to surface, so my pediatrician told me).
I will definitely be doing this on my blog! I have mini lists to the same effect, “favorite smells” “favorite sounds” etc. etc.1 year ago
jill: i would ditto most of yours, and add chubby baby cheeks and knitted caps1 year ago
sarah: love le quotidien! those macaroons! LOVE!1 year ago
roohbaroo: at first i was thoroughly creeped out by how many of these would’ve been on my list (lavender?! lists?! records?! etsy?! we’re doppelgangers! aaaaa!) but then realized that the list may apply to lots of us arsty brooklynites. yay for lists!1 year ago
Miranda: What is it about lists of favorites that makes me so happy?
I’m sure you’re aware but it sounds like you should be living in the country…1 year ago
sarah: roohbaroo, i love meeting dopplegangers! yeah, these are crowd-pleasers, i guess, among birds of a feather.
miranda, i am so with you about the lists. does it really sound like i would be happy in the country? i wonder if i would??
oh god, y’all, i realized i forgot the most important thing:
101. COFFEE1 year ago
Lindsay: See #28.1 year ago
sarah: see, this list is unwieldy.1 year ago
Kristina: I would add: enamelware cups, smocking, autumn leaves in the rain, warm biscotti. Excellent list.1 year ago
Monna: Thanks, Sarah. Your list made me feel better today! Yes to roast chicken - especially if it is in Paris. Jeans that fit perfectly. Old, soft cardigans. Moleskin agendas. The folk singer Auntje Dovekot. Ginger snaps with apple tea.1 year ago
Haley: how fun! gotta love polariods and photo booths!1 year ago
EB: Do we need to discuss #6??1 year ago
Brenda Colleen Leyland: Love your list! Here are a few of my favourites… steaming lattes, kitties, Mediterranean blue, rose petals, magpies hiding peanuts in the fallen leaves, rainy days, smoky autumn evenings, twilight shadows, chocolate truffles, fountain pens, old bookshops, Jesus…. to name a few!1 year ago
Sarah: EB, what’s to discuss? they create only the most beautiful, melancholic, “i’m in europe feeling introspective” music in the world!!
brenda, old bookshops, smoky autumn evenings and fountain pens—yes, yes!1 year ago
mamacita: I’ve been working on my own list for a while. It really can make the difference on a bad day. I would add: old mirrors; anything marbleized or variegated; sleeping with the windows open; waking up to the sound of birds; and my collection of good quotes.1 year ago
sarah: sleeping with the windows open is the best addition!1 year ago
Valerie: Good Morning from up in Canada! thank YOU for this *inspiring* list, I would add: snowmen with bright scarves and dogs in their winter sweaters to my list!1 year ago
Jacqueline: This list made me smile so much I had to create my own!1 year ago
pbg: i just did.1 year ago
Gemma: I also read this and promptly had to make my own list. I posted it on Thursday and by Friday had remembered things that I couldn’t believe I had forgotten!1 year ago
Victoria: I have always suspected a little crush on the accordion (think Amelie, Triplets of Belleville), but I only just realized the fullness of my love for it at my first tango show in Buenos Aires just days ago. The only thing sexier than the dancers was the way the slick young accordionist would bounce his instrument on his knee as it contracted. Yes: accordion = sexy. PS, Sebastian hooked us up with his lovely friend Dan while we were down there. Now we *definitely* owe you guys dinner.1 year ago
helen: :smiles: I love this, esp 63. western shirts1 year ago
